1.
Days 06:20
never allowed to be ourselves always pretending to be someone else it’s not what you want even at best try to explain but it really makes no difference all of this falling apart every day hearts explode and deteriorate pick up the pieces and go on anyway want to be strong but we never knew that constant failing Is all that we’re good for lied to ourselves as long as we can try to explain but
2.
Road 03:37
dig deep down watch it crawl outside lying on the ceiling staring at the floor it’s an itch that can’t be scratched with every breath I feel it coming back abandoned buildings and lonely hallways of our wasted youth the fountain running dry
3.
Windswept 05:47
trapped in a tunnel of webs vultures circling overhead sometimes heaven is a lie light filtering through a pinhole casting shadows on us in the world below decaying fruit sagging skin the smell of pillboxes and medicine
4.
Starewell 04:36
Time takes its toll Tearing a hole A broken promise Is a ticking bomb Waiting to explode We were so young What did we even know of love We had it all It slipped away Maybe we deserve pain Magnet stars for eyes Cut me down to size Running out of limbs to take Leaving us a bloody mess I could stare at you for hours
5.
Dilate 09:55
ground below sky above pull the rug from under us cold wind rustling cloak of night through the trees closing…..in…… wretched beasts are everywhere I’m still here but we should leave I feel it often often I feel it nameless dilate

about

This is far and away one of Lacing’s most nuanced and balanced collections of songs, measuring equal parts melody and mystery with guitar heft and haziness. Lacing’s habit of relentless audio experimentation and subtle incorporation of influences leaves no possible stone unturned across these 5 gorgeous, adventurous tracks. "Days" is an undisputed barn-burner of a track - it opens with a bang and doesn’t let up over 6 minutes. Swirling haze gives way to nearly-Midwest Emo sounding arpeggios that might make Mineral blush before exploding again in sonic fireballs of feedback and distortion. Soaring phase solos rest atop a bed of crackling fuzz that surges like a downed powerline. In a sea of shoegaze copycats & poseurs, Lacing is the real deal - well-crafted modern gaze that puts song structure first and then throws in a kitchen sink’s worth of pedals to obliterate the blooming beauty they’ve created.
